![]() ![]() It’s not worth the attorney’s time or money to attend these small matters. The judge hears witness testimony from each side, then makes a decision. In our town, it’s usually a dog at large complaint. Our town attorney only attends if it is a “serious” hearing matter. The judge and I came up with a form judgment so each case is basically the same, although he may add stipulations per each individual case. I always send a draft to him for signature sometimes he changes it, sometimes he just signs it. I act as court clerk and draft everything w/ the Judge’s approval. Then the private citizen complaints are served on the defendant and the defendant is given an arraignment date. Then the DWUI's are given to the Judge on their arraignment date.
